On Friday May 21st, the Carman Fire Department was dispatched to 2699 Broadway for mutual aid dumpster fire. Engine 131 responded within minuets of the call, while en route the call was upgraded to a building fire. Upon arrival Engine 131’s crew was sent into the A side of the structure to protect the exposure in the front. The fire had gone from the dumpster to the attic of the storage warehouse in the rear of the property. Once the fire had spread over the entire attic, crews went into an exterior attack, by this time Rescue 134 was also dispatched to the scene for rehab support. Crews ended up containing the fire to the rear warehouse, and successfully stopping the spread into the front commercial exposure. Crews remained on scene for roughly 5 hours.
