At 03:18 am on June 9th the Carman Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 115 Mercer Ave in the Town of Rotterdam. Upon arrival crews found a large amount of fire and smoke in the front downstairs bedroom as well as receiving reports of a victim inside. Members of the Carman Fire Department made quick work of a house fire on Saturday, March 22, 2008 on Sherman Street in the Highbridge Section of Rotterdam. The fire, which was reported a few minutes before 4:00 PM, had burned in the cellar of the home and spread into a room converted from a garage. On Thursday December 6th 2007 Carman received a call for a possible electrical fire at 2032 Chepstow Rd. Upon arrival of Car 139 (Chief Sloan) he reported smoke visible from the front door. Upon the arrival of E-131 entry was made into the residence through the front door. At that time there was a heavy smoke condition, lots of heat, but no visible fire.
